Katie DelBonis » Hello!

Hello!

I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to serve as the School Counselor for the Humanities Academy here at WVHS!

I was born and raised in Akron, OH and I graduated from high school in 2002.  I came to Lee University and fell in love with Bradley County, so I never left!  I got my masters degree in School Counseling from Lee in 2009, which is also the year I married my best friend, Michael.  We have 2 wonderful children (Lucy and Jonah) and a dog (Nelly).  We love family movie nights, playing games together, and hanging out in our back yard.

In my free time, there is nothing I love more than being with my family... but if I'm not doing that, I am probably spending time with my friends, shopping, reading, organizing something, watching HGTV, picking up something at Project:Free2Fly, or doing something crafty. And if I'm not doing any of those things, it is likely you will find me at Chick-fil-A or Starbucks.

My first 5 years as a School Counselor were spent at Central High School.  I had done an internship at Walker Valley in 2008, and loved it so much... so I was thrilled when I was offered a job and was able to return in 2014.  I care so deeply about the well-being of our students, and it brings me great joy to see them grow and excel... not just academically, but also socially and emotionally!

It is my biggest career goal to serve and love all of my students well. With that being said, please let me know if there is ever any way I can help you or your student along!

Dear Students,

1. You have value.
2. I believe in you.
3. You are cared for.
4. You are listened to.
5. You are important.
6. You will succeed if you put your mind to it.

Love,
Mrs. DelBonis
