Get to know Mrs. Barnes

My name is Emma Barnes and this is my 18th year at Walker Valley High School. I was a math teacher in the Freshmen and STEM Academies for 17 years and loved finding engaging ways to make students feel successful in the math classroom! I have worked with various programs at Walker Valley, including being a director of the Walker Valley Color Guard and Musical as well as the Academic Coordinator for our Athletic Programs. I am excited to now serve as part of the Career Team as the CTE Career and Academic Advisor. I love the ability to help grow opportunities for students and help support them so they can graduate with the best transcript possible.

I grew up in Knoxville, TN, attended Tennessee Wesleyan College, and my husband and I have now lived in Cleveland for 15 years. We have an daughter who is 8 years old and our family loves being outdoors and finding new adventures. We LOVE supporting the Mustangs at all of their events and Kendall already believes she is a Mustang herself.

I am thankful to be a Mustang and always excited to support students and families in any way that I can.
