Dual Enrollment

What is Dual Enrollment?

Dual Enrollment is a unique opportunity for eligible students to take rigorous and challenging college level classes during their high school career.  They are able to fulfill some of their high school graduation requirements while simultaneously earning college credit.

*If you are interested in taking any Dual Enrollment classes,  please utilize the WVHS Dual Enrollment Guide below and follow the steps listed in that document. Additionally, you need to check with the College you will be attending after high school graduation regarding their transfer policies. Most large Universities have transfer equivalency tables that will help ensure you make appropriate choices. It's like planning a trip... you always start with where you want to go and work backwards.
The following forms must be reviewed, signed by parent, and returned to WVHS prior to a student starting their DE class:
Here is all of the information that our partnering colleges would like for you to know.  After you have reviewed all of their information, if you still have questions, please reach out to them and they will be happy to help you!
If student does not meet the college's criteria regarding ACT score requirements, the DE ACT Score Waiver must be signed by the student and parent and returned to the WVHS counseling office. Form is available here:
How much does it cost??

There is a Dual Enrollment Grant that the state of Tennessee has implemented to make DE an option for all eligible students.  For more information on what your Dual Enrollment classes will cost, please visit the this website and contact Cleveland State, Lee University, or Tennessee Wesleyan. The college may require fees for classes that are not covered by the grant, so check with the college dual enrollment representative directly to find out specifically what cost you will incur.
