Introduction
I'm beginning my 16th year of teaching and my fifth year at Walker Valley High School. Previously, I taught eleven years in Niles, Michigan. My family moved to Cleveland with a job transfer for my husband and we love it! I especially enjoy not having to dig my way through the snow to go places, and of course, the great outdoors of southeastern Tennessee.
My husband, Tim, and I have been married for 16 years and we have two crazy and awesome boys, Troy (age 11) and Adam (age 9). I am a self-proclaimed "taxi driver" as I love to watch my boys play sports and do their activities with huge smiles on their faces. My hobbies include watching and playing sports, especially basketball, swimming, and golf. I also love to travel and just be outdoors, with a LeConte hike scheduled for this fall! I enjoy restoring old furniture, knitting, and playing board games & cards.
Truly I am a legit "science nerd." I love reading about science and watching shows about science. I love to share my passion of science with my students as my main goal is for them to develop the understanding and wonder of science in our daily lives. My favorite part of teaching though is just getting to know students and witnessing the amazing people they are and can become.
